INTERVIEW: Xenoyr (Ne Obliviscaris)
Response to criticism over the bands crowdfunding campaign on Patreon:
XEN: To me, I honestly don't give a shit about people criticizing us because I don't see how it's a problem for anyone. Essentially it's almost like a fan club. People subscribe to us in a sense and they get something from it. They can see "behind the scenes" stuff and old interviews and watch "the making of the album", and all these sorts of things that a lot of our fans don't get a chance to see and they're supporting us in that way and we are giving them something. So, if people aren't interested there is no obligation but if people want to openly support what we do then that's fantastic and we appreciate every fan that wants to help us out. All our fans we're appreciative of. But the fans that love us to that next extra stage and are happy to support in that way it's overwhelming. At the end of the day if you're not interested in something then you are not interested but at the same time if you're going to criticize something then you need to back it up with a solid argument and not just a negative opinion.
Thoughts about their song "And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope" being featured on the YouTube channel 'LOST IN VEGAS'
XEN: We had so many people from everywhere send us messages to watch this video, so much so that we eventually had to put up our own post with the actual reaction video, so we could say "hey, we know about it" just so people would stop messaging us. It was really cool, it was nice to see people who don't nesacarily listen to metal... It was good to see open-minded people actually sitting back and appreciating the sections and the different elements in the music for what it is as opposed to juding it on things like 'not liking harsh vocals' or that sort of thing. It gave us quite a bit of exposure to people that don't normally listen to Heavy Metal.
