The difference between playing with Joey Belladonna and John Bush?
I don’t wanna say one is better than the other because I’ll catch shit from people that will definitely feel like they are entitled to their opinion. But for the most part this is my opinion, okay. With Joey it’s just classic Anthrax and it sounds like Anthrax again and for some reason it makes me feel better about the band.
We made good records (With John Bush), the only problem is the timing of when we were making those records was all wrong for us. ‘The Sound of White Noise’ record was a huge success globally and then after that the climate changed.
Was there any fear that when you came back with Joey Belladonna for ‘Worship Music’ that the flame might not be there anymore?
We didn’t do it that way. We didn’t go say ‘let’s go write a record’. We basically did shows and re-grouped and kina repaired relationships. That’s what we did before we even talked about doing new music. ‘Worship Music’ was all written basically, and then when Joey decided ‘yeah let’s do it’, then the structure changed and the overall excitement changed.
