Levi: Are you excited about coming back to Australia:
MIchael: The last time we were in Australia was 2011, we're really excited to bring Queensryche as a re-invigorated and re-birthed band. It's going to blow people away.
Levi: You're up to your second album with Todd La Torre, how have crowds been reacting to him as the new frontman?
Michael: He seamlessly integrated into the band, fans love him, he's the real deal, there's no prima donna ego on-stage. It's not an act, it's all real. As far as the albums go people are just blown away by Condition Human and his performance on it. We have to prove ourselves with every show and that's what we have been doing. That's what we're doing, we're getting people that haven't seen us in a long time and are wondering what happened. They've had their heads on the sand or something... their jaws are dropping, it's unbelievable after the show how many new fans we get and it's unbelievable that its just a 'viral' situation right now. It's great that we get to bring a high energy version of Queensryche, just like in the good old days back to Australia.
Levi: Are there still young kids coming to the shows?
Michael: Yeah, since we have Parker Lundgren and Todd La Torre we have a whole contingency of new fans. By 'new fans' I mean young fans as well, that are coming to the shows and only know us from our past two albums. It's obviously something that we want to happen and of course we get the people that have been there since 1982 as well. People that are still coming out to support the band and see the band and are amazed to see us do the songs like we did when they were young. It's amazing what you see at a Queensryche show right now, It's so varied in the audience.
Levi: You've been touring for decades now, I'm sure it's both exhausting and rewarding, all up is it worth it?
Michael: I'd be lying to you if I said it's not exhausting, but it's worth it. I'm a road-dog, I was built to do this, I can't party like I did in my twenties, but its something, you know all the flying and all the travelling can wear you down a little bit, but performing onstage is a magical time and it makes it all worth while.
